Luis Rodríguez (PP), the Mayor of Benijófar, has been sworn in as the new provincial deputy for the People’s Party (PP). This is because Francisco Cano, the Mayor of Formentera del Segura, quit his job on the Alicante Provincial Council a few weeks ago, where he was in charge of the Emergencies and Demographic Challenge areas.
The Provincial Council said in a statement that Rodríguez took his place as a deputy at the institution’s regular plenary session in October, which took place this Wednesday. He will now join the ruling team after Cano’s resignation.
The institution’s president, Toni Pérez, will decide what to do next and how to divide up the work among the members of the provincial administration. Pérez embraced his new coworker and congratulated him after the official inauguration ceremony.
