The National Police said that the body of a person who had been dead for “several years” was found on Saturday, October 11th, in an apartment in Valencia. They said that homicide or violent death has been ruled out for now, and that the cause of death seems to have been accidental or natural.
The bones were found in an apartment in the Fuensanta neighbourhood, on the top floor of a building whose terrace was flooded after the drain got clogged because of the torrential rains that hit the city. Because of this difficulty, the horrible discovery was made: the liquid that started to fall on the apartments below was black and smelt bad. Then the neighbours called the police and fire department, who at first thought they were just dealing with a little water leak.
They found the skeleton inside the flat, where a lot of pigeons had made their home. The occupants of the building said it could belong to a man they hadn’t heard from in at least fifteen years.
The National Police can only report that the homicide group has arrived at the location. The District Supply Police Station is in charge of the investigation because any violent or homicidal death has been ruled out.
