The Guardia Civil stopped a car in the Alicante municipality of Torrevieja and arrested two males, 43 and 44 years old, who were accused of cocaine trafficking. In this operation, 80 pieces of hashish weighing a total of 821 grammes and €500 in cash were taken.
The Guardia Civil said in a statement that the event happened on August 31st, when officers stopped a car and the people inside were terrified when they saw the police.
The Guardia Civil officers saw that the person in the front seat was trying to hide a bag under his trousers during the examination. The officers asked him to show them what was inside, and although he didn’t want to at first, they found 80 pieces of hashish shaped like acorns. The search also found 500 euros in 50-euro bills.
Police detained both individuals in the car on suspicion of drug trafficking, a crime against public health.
The on-duty Torrevieja court received the arrested individuals, the evidence from the investigations, and the items that were confiscated. It then ordered their release on bond.
