On Thursday, October 16th, the presiding judge of Alicante’s 9th Court of First Instance, acting on duty, ordered that three of the young men arrested for allegedly attacking another man outside a nightclub in the city in the early hours of the morning be held in provisional, communicated, and without bail.
According to sources from the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV), they are still being investigated for attempted murder, but this could change. The 5th Examining Court of Alicante, which had already opened a case for these same events, is the right court to continue the investigation.
According to other court sources, a fourth youngster who was apprehended has been sent to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
The event took place outside a well-known nightclub in the Albufereta neighbourhood of Alicante. The 18-year-old victim was beaten up badly after he tried to aid a girl who was crying in the street. According to officials in the National Police, he had to stay in the ICU of Alicante General Hospital for six days because of his injuries. He had head injuries, including a broken skull.
