According to sources engaged in the investigation, a 38-year-old man has been detained for killing his partner, a 37-year-old woman from Madrid. Her body was located Friday night, October 24th, in the city of Alicante, where it had already started to decompose.
A 41-year-old man has also been arrested. He is said to have helped the first man try to get rid of the victim’s body. The Government Delegation against Gender Violence has said from the start that it is looking into the event as a crime of gender-based violence.
The National Police are in charge of a case that a court in Alicante said was confidential. They are waiting for the results of the victim’s autopsy at the city’s Institute of Forensic Medicine.
The woman may have been killed in early October for financial reasons, since the alleged killer wanted to get a lot of money from her.
After a third individual told the police about the crime, they found the woman’s body.
This would be the 33rd death this year and the 1,327th since 2003 if this murder is proved to be a case of gender-based violence.
