Six people have been arrested in the Alicante municipality of Rojales for staying in Spain without permission, and another person has been arrested for not following a court order. This was part of a joint operation by the National Police, the Unit Attached to the National Police Corps to the Valencian Government, and the Local Police at a leisure establishment in the centre of the municipality.
The National Police force said in a statement that five reports have been filed for having or using toxic drugs, narcotics, or psychotropic substances, and two for having weapons. This is in line with Organic Law 4/2015 on the Protection of Citizen Security.
The operation, which took place in the afternoon of October 23rd, was part of the planned steps to stop administrative crimes and keep an eye on the administrative condition of foreign citizens.
The operation featured officers from the National Police who specialise in immigration and public safety, as well as the Rojales Local Police’s canine section.
The different police forces worked together to “create an effective operation, strengthening cooperation between the Orihuela Police Station, the Unit Attached to the Valencian Government, and the Local Police of Rojales, all with the goal of ensuring safety and compliance with current rules.”
The National Police said, “These devices are part of the preventive and control measures that seek to ensure respect for the law and maintain safe leisure environments in the province of Alicante.”
