A police force that has been well-trained is more effective, safer, and earns more trust from the public. The Orihuela City Council has put out a bid to buy ammunition for the Local Police to use in shooting practice. The goal is to make the police more equipped, professional and safe.
The contract will last for two years, but it can be renewed for three more years for 14,423 euros a year, for a total of 28,846 euros.
There are 26,000 cartridges in each batch, which is enough for the 127 agents that work with firearms, as each agent gets 200 cartridges.
A few days ago, the Local Police put out a bid for the rental of three all-terrain vehicles for four years, from 2026 to 2029. The total cost will be 223,608 euros, with a financial lease contract that costs 55,902 euros a year, or about 4,600 euros a month.
The PP-Vox coalition government sees this as a strategic and preventative investment to make sure that any situation can be dealt with quickly, safely, and effectively. The coalition’s first objective for public safety, protecting the environment, and responding quickly to emergencies is to buy these pickup vehicles that are entirely suited to the Local Police’s needs.
So, it is necessary to improve the police service’s ability to respond to emergencies in a city as large and varied as Orihuela, which has non-urbanised areas, rural scatters, agricultural roads, paths, and public forests, among other places where regular patrol cars can’t safely or effectively reach.
These all-terrain vehicles address these needs by increasing intervention capacity and coverage.
