Emergency medical services saved a 55-year-old biker who fell into a dry riverbed in the Cartagena area of Perín and hurt himself. The contact to the 112 Emergency Coordination Centre came and said that the biker had fallen about two or three metres and was stuck in a hard-to-reach region.
The firefighters from the Fire Extinguishing Service (SEIS) and Civil Protection of the Cartagena City Council asked for help from the Air Rescue Brigade of the Fire and Rescue Consortium (CEIS). They flew to the scene in a helicopter from the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies.
The 55-year-old guy who was hurt was flown to a place that was easy to get to, where medical staff from a Mobile Emergency Unit (UME) of the 061 Health Emergency and Urgent Care Management were waiting. He was moved to the Santa Lucía University General Hospital in Cartagena after getting treatment.
