The National Police have freed a woman who had been held against her will and beaten for seven days in a drug den in the Juan XXIII neighbourhood. The victim says that on November 1st, a man she didn’t know kidnapped, abused, and raped her. He had two other young males help him hold her against her will. The attacker, who had been in jail since Thursday, has been sent back to jail.
Police found the 50-year-old woman in the flat on Friday morning, November 7th. She was semi-conscious and had burns on her legs and torso. Two young males were also there, which kept her from leaving the flat and talking to anyone. However, the victim herself said that they did not hurt her. The two males told the police that the attacker was forcing them to do what they did.
A witness told the police
A young woman called for help on Thursday night after going to this place with a friend to obtain narcotics. She spotted the victim there and requested her for help. The next morning, this young woman contacted the police, and three patrol cars went to the flat. They discovered one of the men protecting the victim at the entrance to the building. The cops then went up to him and asked whether they may go inside the flat.
When the victim entered the flat, he fell to the floor and started to convulse, which required medical treatment. The two young guys were detained for holding him against his will. The person who is accused of the woman’s degrading treatment and rape had been in jail since Thursday night for something else. When the victim was able to name her attacker, officers rushed to the courthouse to find him, where he was already waiting for his trial.
The trouble started on November 1st, when the victim went to the flat with a friend who is a prostitute. She told him that “someone wanted to meet him.” There were three males in the flat that day: his assailant, a young Algerian man who is now in jail, and a Spanish man who was not there when the police got there on Friday.
Seven days of being held captive
The woman who was kidnapped said she felt sick after using marijuana and went to the toilet. When she came out, her friend was gone. When she tried to leave, her attacker became angry, hit her in the face and ear, and dragged her to a bedroom with a floor covered with cardboard. At that point, the victim’s nightmare began. The attacker tied her up with cable ties, gagged her, and cut her hair. Then, they did a number of humiliating things to her, the worst of which was scorching her with a little blowtorch. The other two males in the flat did not step in to help her.
The attacker sexually attacked the victim many times after that, under threat. She was trapped in a room and not allowed to talk to anyone since her kidnapper used the flat to sell drugs and made sure no one found out she was there. This all came to an end when the same person who had transported the victim to the flat came back on Thursday, 6 November, with a third young woman. This woman saw the victim being held captive and called the police.
The woman who was being held knew that her attacker had been caught by the police on Thursday night. She put her things and the equipment her attacker had used to hurt and humiliate her in a bag, sure that she would be free soon. The officers were able to quickly get the bag off the floor after the victim’s statement.
The woman who was kidnapped said that her attacker also hurt the young men who lived in the flat and worked for him selling narcotics. She also thinks that the friend who brought her to her kidnapper and the young woman who rescued her and told the authorities about the drug den were involved.
