Iberia has started telling its customers about a security breach that has made some personal information less private since one of its suppliers’ systems was accessed without permission.
According to the official statement sent by Iberia, the data that may have been leaked includes:
- Name and surname
- Telephone
- Loyalty card identification number (Iberia Club)
The corporation says clearly that access data to Iberia accounts, passwords, and full bank card details have not been hacked; therefore, this data can’t be used.
Iberia took immediate action
Iberia implemented its safety routine and took all necessary steps to control the incident and stop it from happening again as soon as it was notified. These steps included:
- Enhanced protection for email address changes in accounts
- Continuous monitoring of systems to detect suspicious activity
The airline has also told customers about the problem and is looking into it both internally and with the supplier that was affected.
