Elche City Council’s Department of Public Services is still taking care of and replacing road signs all across the city. The goal of this project is to make the roads safer for people who live in the city and in the surrounding areas.
In the following several weeks, the work will focus on repainting all the horizontal road markings in the Palmerales neighbourhood, which the people of this region asked for. After that, the work will go on to the community of Las Bayas.
Claudio Guilabert, the councillor for the area, said, “This municipal government is committed to working on the maintenance and improvement of public roads, something we have shown since the beginning of this legislature. But above all, we are committed to the safety of the people of Elche; that is our priority.”

Beginning in January, the repainting of pedestrian crossings and road signs will move to the Carrús neighbourhood, namely Avenida de la Libertad and Avenida de la Universidad. There will also be new parking spaces painted for those with limited mobility.
This €350,000 contract comprises services for maintaining, replacing, and putting up new road signs in the municipality.
