The National Lottery says that the Valencian Community has set aside 452,822,800 euros and 2,264,114 tickets for the Christmas Lottery. This works out to 85.17 euros per person.
In 2024, 2,141,385 euros worth of tickets were sold, which is 9.37% higher than the year before. Each person spent an average of 82.19 euros.
In order of how often they win, the endings that win the most are 5, 4, 6, 8, 0, 7, 3, 9, 2, and 1. The first prize of the draw has gone to Valencia fifteen times, Alicante ten times, and Castellón four times, the last time being in 2023 in all cases.
Lottery sellers are very excited about the Christmas Lottery’s top prize draw. They are hoping for a big boost in sales after last year’s floods brought in a lot of money to help those affected. So far, they haven’t seen any “star numbers” in the requests they get from customers.
Rafa Sanchis, the manager of Lotería Manises, said that the demand for lottery tickets in Valencia soared in 2024. This season, even though there were questions about how it would go, sales are growing at the same rate as in previous years, and the trend is favourable.
Since October, this administration has been crowding the street with customers eager to buy at the seven windows it keeps open during December, although throughout the summer it focusses more on the tourist shopper.
Sanchis believes that no “star number” has come out yet, but he warns that there are still days remaining for “something that will attract attention” to happen. Lotería El Castillo de Alaquàs agrees with this.
According to its manager, Marcos Bernabéu, the only thing that has made some clients ask for the ending 59, which is the same as the number of the new location, is the move to a different location on the same avenue four months ago.
Compared to the same time last year, Lotería El Castillo, which sells the Valencia CF lottery, has seen an increase in orders of 12 to 15%. Even though digital lottery is becoming more popular, many customers this season are asking to have the ticket sent to their homes because they prefer to have the physical ticket.
This business is open every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and has nine staff who work in shifts. It is already getting ready for the busiest days of the campaign, which will start after the bank holiday weekend in December.
Messages from the DANA
According to Bernabé Martínez, the manager of an administration that was hurt by the floods of October 2024, number 1 in Benetússer, other lottery outlets are having “a normal pace” with the campaign. He has the same lottery as last year and says that “a little more” was sold during the DANA storm year, but many companies cancelled their orders at the same time.
The floodwaters came up to the lottery office’s waists, and after a year in which “we almost gave away the first prize and almost the second; both of them hit the post,” this draw intends to give away bigger rewards.
Sales happen over the counter, on the internet, and over the phone. Every year, both buyers and sellers hope that the awards will be given out and that people who buy shares in Fallas commissions, troupes, or festival groups will also make money.
