The National Police have arrested a 47-year-old man in Alicante who was wanted by Polish police for drug trafficking and being a part of a criminal organisation. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison for crimes he committed in 2021.
The International Fugitives Group of the General Police Headquarters told the National Police in Alicante about Poland’s European Arrest Warrant. There was a suspicion that the Polish fugitive had picked the province of Alicante to hide from the law in his home country, and this turned out to be true.

The investigators started looking for him and quickly found him in Alicante. There, a police operation led to his arrest.
The fugitive had run away from Polish justice after being found guilty of drug trafficking and being a member of a criminal organisation. He was sentenced to 20 years in jail.
The incidents happened in 2021, and the claim says that the person who was arrested was part of a criminal group that was involved in the worldwide trafficking of drugs and transported significant amounts of marijuana between Spain and Poland to make money.
After they arrested him, the agents found out that the fugitive also had a national judicial warrant from a court in Alicante for driving without a licence or permit.
Police said that exchanging information and working well with police in other countries made it possible to catch the fugitive.
The detainee was given to the Central Court of Instruction of the National Court, which is responsible for making sure that he gets extradited.
