AENA, the company that runs the Barcelona airport, has just put in place a new way to monitor who can enter the infrastructure.
The rule has been in force for three weeks, and it can mean that travellers have to present their boarding card or reservation to go into the terminal.
The policy is part of the new law that was passed this year for all Spanish airports run by AENA. It is a permanently in place at Barcelona airport

AENA said that the measure will make it harder for individuals who don’t have flights to get to the terminal. The group says that these controls could be “random or stable” and are done in both terminals T1 and T2.
The goal is for the airport to be “exclusively” utilised by passengers, individuals who are with them, and organisations that AENA has approved to offer services.
