According to a statement from the Corps, the National Police have arrested a man and two women living in Molina de Segura (Murcia) for making accusations in which they alleged to have been victims of violent robberies in public.
At the beginning of last November, the man filed a complaint saying that three men had robbed him. They came up to him pretending to ask for a cigarette, but then, when he wasn’t paying attention, they pushed him and took his wallet, which had a lot of money and important papers in it.
In the second example, a woman said that when she was going down the street, another woman grabbed her purse and made her fall to the ground. This is why she even included a medical report for her supposed injuries.
The third person involved submitted a complaint saying that someone had come up to her and forced her into a car, and that they had threatened her to make many bank transfers.
After looking at the claims and finding many contradictions and inconsistencies in the complainants’ allegations, the agents confirmed that the man had lost his wallet and didn’t know how it happened.
When the authorities called the woman to testify in the second case, she informed them that her statements were not accurate. She also said that she had misplaced her wallet with a lot of money inside, which was in the bag that was meant to be taken.
According to the inquiry, the third claimed victim lost money in some way and sought to hide it and explain it with the complaint.
The people who were arrested will have to answer to the Judicial Authority for what they did, and they could get fines of up to 12 months or prison sentences of up to two years.
