For only €60 a month, the government will offer a single transport pass that works all over Spain. For anyone under 26, it would cost only €30. Starting in the second half of January 2026, this new pass will be good for state-owned buses, commuter trains, and medium-distance trains. Pedro Sánchez, the Prime Minister, said this was another promise to “sustainable mobility and to the middle and working classes.”
The president has said that this new transport ticket would be adopted at the last Council of Ministers meeting of the year through a Royal Decree-Law. This law will also extend subsidies for public transport. He has also instructed municipalities and autonomous communities to connect their public transportation systems to this pass system so that “all citizens of the country can easily get to public transport.”
In this manner, the same transport pass could be used for state-run trains and buses, as well as city buses and the metro network. This would let people travel with just one ticket. The Spanish government hopes that two million people will benefit from this new programme.
