Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Morocco’s national airline, has announced that it will start flying to Alicante-Elche airport in the summer of 2026. The airline will also start flying directly to Casablanca.
On April 1st, 2026, there will be three flights a week between Alicante-Elche Airport (El Altet) and Casablanca. The flights will leave on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The Moroccan airline will use Embraer 190 planes with 98 seats for the routes.
For the first time, Royal Air Maroc will fly to and from Alicante-Elche Airport. This is because there has been a lot of demand for the route and airline over the years. The connection will make it easy to get to a lot of places with just one stop, notably Africa, thanks to its centre in Casablanca, the country’s biggest metropolis.
In 2019, the Belgian airline TUI flew between Alicante-Elche and Casablanca, carrying 9,245 people between the two destinations. The Moroccan market has grown at the airport since then, reaching 177,769 passengers in just eleven months of 2025. This new route will connect the Costa Blanca directly to four Moroccan cities: Casablanca (Royal Air Maroc), Fez, Marrakech, and Tetouan (Ryanair).
