Jonathan Alan S., an Irishman, has been out on bail since Wednesday, December 17th, after paying the €100,000 bail set by the Torrevieja court looking into the matter. He is suspected of killing his fellow Irishman John George Hardy with two shots a year ago in Rojales.
On Wednesday, the Torrevieja Court of Instruction number 2 ordered the release of the man who is accused of killing John George after the court received the €100,000 bail payment. The court sent the order to the Villena prison, where the man had been confined since April of last year. He left the prison late Wednesday afternoon.
It’s not know if Jonathan Alan S.’s wife, another family member, or a friend picked him up from jail. The Guardia Civil detained Jonathan’s wife, Madison V., a 20-year-old British OnlyFans model, again early Tuesday morning in Orihuela Costa. This time it was about having guns without permission. In Torrevieja at the beginning of September, the Guardia Civil apprehended her when she was driving with a companion. They found about a kilogramme of crystal meth in the car. She was held in jail for a few days before her trial and was released on €20,000 bail.
Second arrest
The Guardia Civil stopped her car while she was with three males and found two loaded guns inside. One of the men ran away, but the Guardia Civil caught Madison, 35, and a 28-year-old Englishman. On Wednesday morning, all three went to the duty court in Orihuela to see a judge. Alicia Grau Córdoba, a lawyer, helped John George’s wife’s accused killer get out on bond.
The Torrevieja Court of Instruction Number 2 recently decided to let Jonathan Alan S. go free after his defence attorneys, Francisco Miguel Galiana Botella and Alejandro Murcia, asked for his release. The Public Prosecutor’s Office and the private prosecution both said no to the request for bail. John George’s family’s lawyer filed an appeal, which is now pending. This has not changed the judge’s ruling.

The judge said in her release order that there was enough evidence to keep the allegation of alleged homicide against Jonathan, but that pretrial detention was no longer necessary to make sure the defendant was “procedurally available” at this point in the case. The judge said that the goals of pretrial detention, which are mostly to keep people from fleeing, might be met using “less restrictive of the right to liberty” means that would nevertheless achieve the same goals as pretrial detention.
The accused must also go to court every day and is not allowed to leave the country without permission from the court. They must pay a bail of 100,000 euros to stay out of jail.
