A driver was caught in Crevillent after trying to get away from a Local Police alcohol and drug checkpoint that was part of the Directorate General of Traffic’s (DGT) special surveillance programme.
The event happened in the early morning when a car tried to get away from a police roadblock by driving away from the cops. Then, the police from nearby towns worked together to start a chase.
Finally, the Local Police of Crevillent, Elche, and Santa Pola were able to stop the car thanks to their work together.
The motorist was stopped and given the appropriate tests. He tested positive for narcotics, therefore he was taken into custody.
The Crevillent Local Police have made it clear that these inspections are part of the special Christmas operation, which aims to keep the roads safe and stop dangerous situations created by drivers who are drunk or high.
The officers thanked the police forces that worked together and said they will keep working to make sure that the Christmas celebrations go off without a hitch on the roadways.
