A double murder has broken the peace in El Pinet, a residential enclave in the Marina district of Elche, Alicante. On Monday afternoon, December 22nd, two Polish men killed two German men in this coastal area. After trying to cover the dead, they locked themselves inside the house, although it seems they didn’t have any weapons or hostages.
Sources in the Guardia Civil have confirmed this. Today, Tuesday December 23rd, they set up an operation to block off the location and arrest the two men who are thought to have committed the double homicide. Both have been in trouble with the police before, while a third individual is in severe condition in an Elche hospital.
A resident of the housing estate witnessed what looked like a body being taken out of one of the houses by the people who are thought to have committed the double murder. Personnel from the Guardia Civil and the Local Police of Elche and Santa Pola later located the bodies on the street.
But even though everything pointed to a settling of scores, authorities are not ruling out any theory because they think the two Germans died from the beating. There were no bullets found at the scene, and neighbours haven’t said anything about any gunfire.
Sources from the armed institute say that the two individuals who were killed were beaten to death. They also said that the cause for the events does not now point to a possible settling of scores.
