After breaking up a drug sales point in a residence in Torrevieja (Alicante), Guardia Civil officers arrested three males, ages 21, 27, and 30, who are accused of drug trafficking, unlawful possession of weapons, and being part of a criminal group.
The Investigation Area of the Main Post of the Guardia Civil in this Alicante municipality started Operation “Thalassa25” at the end of June 2025.
The Guardia Civil claimed in a statement that the operation started when they saw “insecurity among the residents” and got “various reports indicating the existence of a house used as a drug sales point.”
As the investigation went on, police were able to prove that the accused worked together in an organised way, taking on different responsibilities in the organisation, and that drugs, mainly hashish and marijuana, were sold from the residence. Also, it was found that one of the people being held was probably connected to an armed robbery that happened in the same town months before.
After all the information was gathered and the necessary evidence was gathered, a search warrant was carried out at the property being investigated. This operation involved agents from the Investigation Area, with help from the Citizen Security Unit (USECIC) of the Alicante Command and the Canine Service.
More than half a kilo of drugs, like hashish and marijuana, and over 3,000 euros in cash were found during the search, along with two firearms. The three people who were said to be part of the group were also taken into custody.
The three people who were detained are being charged with being part of a criminal group, against public health, illegally having firearms, and robbery with violence. They are now in the custody of the court.
The Guardia Civil has stressed how important it is for citizens to work together to find these kinds of illicit operations, while also reinforcing its “commitment” to keeping citizens safe and fighting drug trafficking.
