According to sources from the Corps, the National Police in Cartagena (Murcia) have charged three underage boys with making and sharing images altered with artificial intelligence (AI) applications that showed female classmates from their school without clothes.
A parent went to the police station to make a complaint and told the authorities about altered photos of multiple naked youngsters, including his daughter. This is what started the investigation.
During the inquiry, seven other complaints about similar events were added to the first one. This led the National Police to three juvenile boys from the victims’ school environment.
The three minors were looked into for their supposed role in a crime of corrupting minors. The case has been sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for Minors in Murcia, where it will continue to be processed according to Organic Law 5/2000 on Criminal Responsibility of Minors.
The National Police wants everyone to know that making or sharing sexualised pictures of minors, even if they are fake or altered, is a serious crime. This kind of behaviour has legal and criminal consequences, even if the people who do it are minors.
