The Guardia Civil has arrested the driver of a car that hit one of its officers and then sped away after going through a checkpoint on the Seville ring road. The Guardia Civil said in a statement that on November 30th, they put up an alcohol and drug checkpoint on the SE-30 highway. They told a car to halt, but the driver didn’t listen.
After the hit-and-run, the GIAT of the Andalusian Road Safety Investigation Unit started looking into it. The driver was arrested first, and the car’s owner and holder were also arrested. The control members thought the driver was a necessary collaborator in the crimes mentioned above.
Finally, on December 18th, the driver of the car was arrested with the help of the Seville Local Police after being found in the city centre.
The motorist has been charged with Assaulting an Authority Officer, Serious Disobedience, and Reckless Driving.
