Three people from the same family were arrested by National Police in the Alicante towns of Elche and Santa Pola. They were part of a criminal cell that sold drugs on a modest scale.
Last July, agents found out that a small portion of the town of Elche might be home to a small-scale drug distribution network, mostly for cocaine.
The agents of the Provincial Brigade of Judicial Police of Alicante found a residence in Elche where everything pointed to drug trafficking, notably cocaine being sold in little amounts. They did this by gathering information and following police protocols.
The officers found out that a woman lived in the house. After that, she went to several places near the house to finish the deal after talking to buyers. She did these things to keep her neighbours from getting suspicious and to keep huge groups of people from coming to her house. Also, by not letting customers into her house, she made it harder for police to find where she kept the drugs, which would have misled them if they had to look into it.
As the inquiry went on, the agents found out that the drugs had come from another place and were brought to that residence by a man who turned out to be the primary suspect’s brother-in-law. Finally, the investigators found out where this individual lived: in the village of Santa Pola in Alicante.
Also, the sister of the main investigator, who was also the partner of the second individual being investigated, knew about the criminal activities of both her sister and her partner. She even helped with drug trafficking by moving the drugs from one house to another.
Lastly, the agents raided and searched two homes in Elche and three in Santa Pola that the suspects used. They found 604 grammes of cocaine, 64 grammes of MDMA (methamphetamines), 14 grammes of tusi (pink cocaine), 6 grammes of amphetamines, 6,225 euros, four cell phones, and the car that was used to move the drugs between the two places.
After the police procedures, the two women and one man, who are 55, 39, and 43 years old, have been sent to the Court of Instruction on duty in Elche.
