Firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Consortium (CEIS) of the Region of Murcia (CEIS) have put out the fire that started yesterday morning, January 5th, at a wood treatment and waste management company’s building in Caravaca de la Cruz.
At 4:53 a.m. that morning, someone called the 112 Emergency Coordination Centre to report the event. The person who called reported that a wood factory next to the RM-730 road, close to the cemetery, was on fire.
A police patrol from the area went to the scene and confirmed the fire, its location, and the need for firefighters. Then, the CEIS firefighters (the whole crew from the Caravaca de la Cruz fire station) were called in. The fire commander said at 5:56 a.m. that the fire was under control.
The fire damaged the company’s offices and warehouse, but no one was hurt. The firefighters stayed there to cool down the area.
