As part of Operation “Silla-PAC254”, the Guardia Civil arrested a man and his spouse in Silla who had been subject to arrest and detention warrants for several reasons.
A man living in a squat in the town was the target of many operations by plainclothes Guardia Civil personnel because it was known that he had an outstanding arrest and detention warrant. When the officers entered his wife’s actual personal information into a database, they discovered that she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest and imprisonment for a drug trafficking offence. During these operations, the officers discovered that his wife had given someone else’s information during certain police procedures.
Following a thorough investigation that confirmed the family’s occasional hasty departure from the Silla home and relocation to unidentified locations, it was also noted that the man took drastic security precautions when he left the property, which made his arrest challenging.
A warrant to enter the house was eventually secured after it was established that the two primary targets were there. The man and woman were detained and transported to the Picassent Penitentiary Centre on the same day as a result of this action.
Officers found that the man had several machetes close at hand for self-defence and had secured the door by supporting it with many construction scaffolding constructions. The suspect actively resisted arrest and had to be restrained by multiple officers before the specialised USECIC team from Valencia was able to apprehend him after forcing entry through multiple points.
The detained are two Spanish nationals, a 35-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman. The woman was sought for narcotics trafficking, and the male had outstanding charges for fraud and a traffic violation.
Agents from the Silla Main Station have conducted the inquiry.
The Court of First Instance and Instruction number 3 of Carlet received the proceedings.
