Last week, the National Police in Alicante detained eight teenagers between the ages of 14 and 16 for hurting a 16-year-old kid very badly on New Year’s Eve outside a nightclub in Playa de San Juan. They say they did this according to the complaint filed at the police station, the youngster who was attacked lost 84 percent of his vision in one eye.
The youngsters were released after being taken to the Prosecutor’s Office, which asked the Juvenile Court to impose a restraining order against the victim for all of them. The court agreed.
Grievance
The National Police’s Juvenile Unit arrested the suspects in Alicante on January 14th after looking into a complaint made by the 16-year-old who was attacked on January 2nd. According to the complaint, the incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. near the entrance to a nightclub in Playa de San Juan.
The victim says that while he was in the nightclub, a group of young individuals started to verbally attack one of his friends. The young man asked them what they were doing, and they attacked him. One of the attackers instructed a bouncer to take him outside so he could beat him up. The bouncer then grabbed him by the neck and tossed him out of the club, taking away the wristband that let him into the New Year’s Eve party.

The young man says that after he got outside, he was kicked and pummelled. He says that a bouncer did nothing and only helped him up, at which point he was attacked again. The victim’s complaint says that one of the bouncers is the parent of one of the youngsters who was in the fight.
