A car sped away after numerous scooters were stolen from the Zenia Boulevard shopping centre on the Orihuela Costa, but the thieves didn’t know how fast and well the security officers and the Local Police could work together.
The initial witnesses called the police right away and gave them a description of the accused. Then, the police saw the car leaving the area. The car was stopped in Campoamor after a chase that started in La Zenia and went down the N-332. One of the people inside tried to run away on foot.
One of the officers didn’t think twice about chasing after him, which led to an actual chase that ended with his arrest until backup came. Also, they had stolen the car they used the day before at La Vila.
The three males that were arrested were Algerian and didn’t have any paperwork. One was 35 years old and the other two were between 18 and 25 years old.
Just a few days before, two young men were also captured trying to steal scooters that were parked at the same mall. Security cameras caught the moment when two 19-year-old twins were using tools to get into the cars.
But the robbery was stopped by the fast action of the local police. They ran away after being seen, starting a foot chase through the retail centre, which is one of the biggest in the province. They were caught in the end.
