The Guardia Civil is looking into the murder of a 13-year-old boy which happened on Saturday afternoon, January 24th, in the town of Sueca. A 48-year-old man who is the father of one of Álex’s friends turned himself in to the Guardia Civil in Sueca at 6:30 p.m. and admitted to killing the youngster.
The Provincial Command says that the body of the youngster was recovered at the address given by the suspect, with blows and stab wounds to his body.
The person who admitted to doing these things showed up to the barracks at 6:30 p.m. and was detained.
The investigation is now in the hands of the Guardia Civil’s Homicide Unit.
The boy who died was named locally as Alex, who played for a local football team. The two boys had visited the man’s house earlier that day, where they are said to have played video games together. The man stabbed and beat Álex to death inside the house for reasons that are still being looked into. The police found the victim with stab wounds and other injuries, as well as a knife and a baseball bat at the site.
The Sueca City Council declared two days of formal mourning. During this time, the council’s flags were flown at half-mast.
The local government team also sends its sympathies and assistance to the victim’s family and friends.
