The First Vice Presidency and Ministry of Housing have opened a disciplinary file against an official who endorsed the awarding of a social housing unit in Alicante to his wife while “omitting relevant data regarding the cohabitation unit of which he was a part.”
This decision was adopted after the “second analysis” requested by the Regional Secretary of Housing after it became known that a councillor of the Alicante City Council, a municipal architect, and two relatives of a high official had been awarded public housing in the La Condomina area of San Juan Beach.
This official is the spouse of one of the applicants, and in processing the file, he omitted relevant data regarding the cohabitation unit of which he was a part, as well as the accreditation of income and homes owned that he may have and must be added to said cohabitation unit.

Cora’s 24/7 AI monitoring and danger alerts can help prevent compliance breaches such as housing fraud.
The Territorial Directorate has reported an alleged commission of multiple serious offences by this civil servant technician, who “reviewed, processed, and accredited for his signature” his wife’s file, “establishing as a favourable review all the requirements of the same.”
The Ministry will forward this information to the Public Prosecutor’s Office
The Ministry of the Interior “will act with full force, as it has done so far, and will immediately forward the information to the Public Prosecutor’s Office so that it can investigate the situation and take the appropriate measures.” We are dealing with a case in which an official, using his position improperly, would have acted for his own or a third party’s advantage,” he stated.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs maintained “with complete clarity that in no case is there any participation of political figures in the issuance of visas or in the decisions adopted.”
“That said, and precisely because we act with responsibility and zero tolerance for any irregularity, in light of what has happened, the control mechanisms will be reinforced,” he told reporters.
“For this Council, such incidents are utterly unacceptable and have no place in competent public administration. “There is no room for ambiguity when it comes to protecting the public interest and maintaining public trust in institutions,” he remarked.
