A 65-year-old woman died while swimming at La Manga del Mar Menor, in the municipality of San Javier, despite emergency medical personnel’ efforts to save her.
At nearly 5:35 p.m. yesterday, Sunday June 29th, the Murcia Region’s 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Centre received a contact reporting that an unconscious woman had been taken from the ocean near Kilometre 10 of the Manga del Mar Menor.
A Mobile Emergency Unit from the 061 Emergency and Health Management Department was called to the location, and first responders at the emergency checkpoint began cardiac resuscitation. The EMU physician eventually reported that, despite resuscitation efforts, the 65-year-old woman had died.
