Diana Box Alonso, Torrevieja City Councillor for Sports, Miguel Soria, Head of Projects of the Valencian Community Handball Federation, and Irene Mercader, Head of the Executive Team of the Rayito Salinero Beach Handball Club, have presented the program for the penultimate round of the Valencian Community Beach Handball League, which will be held this Saturday, May 31st, and Sunday, June 1st, at Los Náufragos beach in Torrevieja.
The tournament winner will compete in the Arena 1000 Championship in Cadiz (National Circuit).
This Valencian Community League will include about 700 handball players from 61 teams (both men’s and women’s), ranging from under-12s to seniors. Beach handball matches will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. According to the Valencian Community Handball Federation’s Project Manager, this sporting event will have a greater than €100,000 economic impact on Torrevieja this weekend.
Finally, the Torrevieja-based Rayito Salinero team is a strong contender in various categories, having previously won regional and Spanish beach handball championships, a sport that is gaining popularity in our country.
