These spooky snacks are perfect for any Halloween party! Juicy hot dogs are wrapped in buttery dough bandages and baked until golden brown for a terrifyingly fun twist on pigs in a blanket. These edible mummies, with mustard eyes peeking out of their wrappings, are more adorable than creepy—and appropriate for both children and adults. Serve them with ketchup or ‘bloody’ marinara sauce for a ghoulishly good time.

Ingredients

1 can refrigerated roll dough or puff pastry

8 hot dogs or veggie dogs

Sliced cheese for added flavour

Mustard or ketchup for the eyes

Cooking spray or a little melted butter

Instructions

Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius.

Unroll the dough and cut into thin strips

Wrap each hot dog in dough strips, crisscrossing them like mummy bandages. Leave a small space at the top for the 'face.'

Optional: Place a slice of cheese beneath the dough for added flavour.

Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray or brush them with melted butter.

Bake them for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown

Add the eyes using dots of mustard or ketchup, or use sweets as eyes if you want a more cartoon look.

Serve them warm with dipping sauces like ketchup or 'bloody' marinara sauce
