Elche – From December 1st to December 6th, L’Aljub, managed by CBRE, will host a unique and sustainable retail experience: a pop-up store from King Colis, a French startup that rescues lost e-commerce parcels and makes them available to the public.
Customers have only 10 minutes during the pop-up to browse and select unknown parcels without opening them. They are sold by weight: standard boxes cost €2.49 per 100g, and ‘premium’ Ones sell for €2.99 per 100g. Only after payment are buyers permitted to open their packages and discover what they received.
According to King Colis, the company has already sold over 77 tonnes of parcels and attracted 65,000 visitors across Europe, and it is now bringing the “mystery box” concept to Elche. Visitors’ parcels may contain anything from a smartwatch or branded clothing to jewellery or a tech gadget.
The goal is to promote sustainability and circular consumption, as millions of online orders are lost each year due to incorrect addresses or delivery issues. Historically, undeliverable parcels were destroyed, but King Colis saves them, giving them a second chance and reducing waste.
