The Minister for the Environment, Infrastructure, and Territory have announced the extension of free transportation for young people and a 50% discount on multi-trip tickets and provisional passes.
Until June 30, the Minister for the Environment, Infrastructure, and Territory, Vicente MartÃnez Mus, will extend the free transportation for young people and offer a 50% discount on multi-trip tickets and provisional passes.
MartÃnez Mus guaranteed that the Council’s objective with this extension is to “promote sustainable mobility” and “offer quality public transport, accessible to all families and universal,” during his appearance in the Cortes, where the decree that extended free travel for young people until January 31 was debated.
The discounts will be available to all users of the Alicante TRAM, Castellón TRAM, Metrovalencia, Metrobús, and buses, who have already made approximately 70 million journeys since the initiative’s inception. It is anticipated that this free measure will impact nearly half a million individuals under the age of 31.
Holders of these permits are not required to undergo any procedures in order to take advantage of these benefits during the initial weeks of the extension that was approved by the Generalitat. Young users will be required to refresh their cards in the upcoming months.
Furthermore, individuals who satisfy the age requirement—under 31 years old—but lack this permit may request it through the appointment section of the Metropolitan Transport Authority of Valencia, Metrovalencia, and TRAM of Alicante websites.
