Elche man detained on suspicion of drug trafficking

Police in Elche have taken a man into custody on charges related to drug trafficking, which they say endanger the public’s health.

At about 5:30 p.m., police on duty patrol noticed a man on Calle Llimoner who had an unusual reaction upon realising the presence of law enforcement, leading them to suspect foul play.

Agents determined that the individual was in possession of a plastic-wrapped substance—apparently cocaine paste—weighing more than 42 grams—far more than the amount intended for trafficking—after doing the necessary inspections in light of the circumstances. The individual was taken into custody due to all these factors.
