A 34-year-old Spanish man was caught and is now being held in jail. He is suspected of robbing five homes in Torrevieja, sometimes while the owners were inside.
The Civil Guard said that this person had a long police record and worked alone, breaking into homes by pushing doors or windows open.
The investigation started in early January, and after looking at all the evidence that showed the criminal using a stolen car and credit cards that had been stolen, police were able to name the suspect.
Earlier this year, the Torrevieja Civil Guard found evidence of several thefts from homes in the Las Torretas area. They then launched an operation that recovered and returned a high-end vehicle, a wallet, and a luxury watch to their rightful owners. The case is being investigated by the 4th Investigating Court of Torrevieja.
