El Campello Local Police and the Guardia Civil have taken new steps to combat crime in the municipality. Both troops conducted a normal checkpoint at midnight on Wednesday, May 20th.
Half an hour later, a car carrying two persons was stopped. According to municipal authorities, they appeared to be under the influence of something and were quite apprehensive from the start.
As a result, the motorist was tested and found to be negative for alcohol but positive for TCH (the primary ingredient in cannabis), AMF (amphetamine), and MET (methamphetamine), all of which are narcotic compounds that must be reported.

Officers searched both men and found a plastic wrapper containing a white substance inside a beach cooler. This substance turned out to be speed, a stimulant made from amphetamine sulphate and taken nasally or orally.
The material weighed 12.3 grammes; thus, the Guardia Civil arrested the motorist for alleged public health violations. He admitted that it was his property, therefore exonerating the second individual.
With this intervention, the two security forces in El Campello demonstrated the efficacy of their coordinated actions, “which is yielding the best results.”
