Following the enactment of the new Immigration Law last Tuesday, May 20th, by Royal Decree 1155/2024 of November 19th, the Torrevieja City Council’s Department of Coexistence and Integration, through the Office for the Care of Migrants (PANGEA), will organise various meetings and talks over the next few weeks, in which the news and, above all, changes to the Settlement reports prepared by that municipal department will be reported.
The new legislation, which took effect in May, defines five categories of rootedness: family rootedness, social rootedness, socio-laboural rootedness, second-chance rootedness, and socio-educational rootedness.
Óscar Urtasun, Councillor for Coexistence and Integration, recommends that individuals, associations, or groups interested in participating in these talks send an email to pangea@torrevieja.eu. They will be informed of the dates, times, and places of the sessions.
