A man in his 50s died on Friday, June 13th, after being crushed by a forklift inside a fruit and vegetable shop in Murcia’s Jerónimo y Avileses neighbourhood.
At around 11:48 a.m., 1-1-2 received a call reporting an accident. According to the callers, the man was trapped under the machine he was repairing and may have died.
Firefighters from Murcia City Council’s Fire and Rescue Service (SEIS) and an ambulance staffed by paramedics from the 061 Emergency Department were summoned to the location. Despite the operatives’ efforts, the injured man died.
The incident has been reported to the Murcia Regional Occupational Health and Safety Institute.
