In an unusual plenary session on Friday morning, June 20th, the Los Montesinos City Council approved a reduction in the municipality’s occupancy rates for tables and chairs, a step aimed at supporting and boosting our town’s restaurant industry, according to the council.
The Los Montesinos City Council has implemented a 30% rate decrease for companies in pedestrian streets and squares, as well as a 25% discount for other streets in the municipality. This new ordinance will go into effect on January 1, 2026, benefiting various businesses.
Councillor for Economic Development and Promotion Ana Belén Juárez emphasised the significance of this measure: “At City Hall, we are dedicated to our business community and the well-being of our citizens.” The cost reduction for hoteliers demonstrates our strong support and dedication to a sector that is critical to the town’s economy and social well-being. We will continue to work to ensure that Los Montesinos grows and provides additional opportunities for its citizens and visitors.
With this act, the Los Montesinos City Council underlines its commitment to local economic development by providing resources and policies that support the municipality’s long-term prosperity.
