An 85-year-old man bathing at La Mota beach in San Pedro del Pinatar died after emergency medical services were unable to save him.
At 12:53 p.m. on Sunday June 22nd, the 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Centre received a call reporting an unconscious male on the aforementioned beach.
Civil Protection workers from the municipality came on the scene and reported that the 85-year-old man was in cardiac arrest after swallowing a huge amount of water. At the time, resuscitation operations were underway.
The 061 Emergency and Health Department rushed an ambulance, but medical personnel were only able to confirm the swimmer’s death.
