Early Sunday morning, June 22nd, in Guardamar del Segura, police arrested two men on suspicion of robbing a petrol station in Torrevieja. According to Torrevieja police, after receiving a complaint of the robbery, a patrol discovered the suspect vehicle, whose occupants ignored police signals and fled in a risky, high-speed chase.
The chase, which included multiple patrols from Torrevieja Local Police, continued into the municipality of Guardamar del Segura, when the alleged robbers’ vehicle lost control and came to a halt in a forested area. Torrevieja police apprehended the two suspects as they fled on foot. Following their arrest, both suspects were transferred to Torrevieja Local Police headquarters and arraigned in court.
The police force extended gratitude to personnel from the Torrevieja Civil Guard and the Guardamar del Segura Local Police, who also took part in the operation. This was an effective team effort that exhibits interagency coordination in the defence of public safety.
