National Police officers apprehended a man in Alicante who was the subject of a European Arrest Warrant for Extradition (EAW) issued by Greek authorities for property offences committed from 2009 to 2013. The individual allegedly belonged to a criminal organisation that specialised in burglaries and stole electronics.
The Intelligent Command, Communications, and Control Centre, Room CIMACC-091, discovered that a person staying at a city hotel had a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) issued by Greek authorities, according to a Superior Command statement.
As a result, a Citizen Security patrol was dispatched to the scene to find and apprehend the fugitive, who was currently residing there. Officers responding to the scene discovered the fugitive in his own room, and after recognising him and establishing that he was the subject of the European arrest warrant, they apprehended him and transported him to police headquarters.
