The construction of a new headquarters for the Elda Local Police is proceeding as planned, and the Local Government Board has accepted the tender for the new facility. The new facility will be 1,500 square metres in size and will be built on the same site as the current one.
Companies can now submit proposals for this project. The project has a €2.5 million budget and is part of the ambitious investment plan “Elda, part of you,” which has been endowed with more than €40 million to alter the city in terms of accessibility, sustainability, green spaces, children’s entertainment, and local cultural preservation.
Designed by Antonio MarÃ
Architect Antonio Marà designed the new Local Police facility, which will replace the current headquarters. The purpose is to provide the police with contemporary, functional facilities that will enhance the level of service provided to the city’s citizens.
Furthermore, this new structure will be more modern, accessible, and energy-efficient, with cutting-edge security and communications equipment to allow for a quick and effective reaction to any emergency.
It’s worth emphasising that the building materials will be more sustainable, lowering their environmental impacts and carbon footprints. The building will have Class A energy certification thanks to an aerothermal system that mixes hot and cold air units, as well as roof-mounted solar panels.
Similarly, we will construct all facilities to accommodate those with limited mobility, ensuring inclusivity and universal access. The building has a ground floor and two levels, with access to the middle floor from Paseo de la Mora, where a pedestrian ramp will be installed.
Modular system
The building’s modular design ensures durability and provides for easy expansion or future use. It also has a spacious meeting room that can seat over 150 people, as well as offices for daily operations and facilities for the Attestation, Viogen, and Guardianship departments.
The project is projected to take 9 to 12 months to complete and will improve the facilities where the Local Police have been headquartered since 2001, previously housing the Sempere y Guarinos school. Thus, the current structure is over 45 years old.
“The creation of a new Local Police headquarters allows us to make progress in improving the services offered to citizens while providing our officers with safer and more adapted facilities to carry out such important work as the one they do every day, guaranteeing the safety and assistance to thousands of Elda residents,” said Councillor for Public Space, José Antonio Amat, emphasising that “from the local government, we continue to demonstrate that the ‘Elda is part
