A 61-year-old man died this Tuesday morning, July 8th, after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle along Cartagena’s Ronda Transversal, according to Emergency Coordination Centre sources.
The accident occurred just after 7 a.m. on the RM-36 (Ronda Transversal) in Cartagena, and the driver of the car reported to the Emergency Services that he had driven over a cyclist in the ‘Nueva Cartagena’ residential neighbourhood.

Local police patrols, as well as a Mobile Emergency Unit from the Murcia Region’s 061 Emergency and Health Management Department, have responded to the scene.
When paramedics arrived, they could only confirm the biker had died.
