Six individuals have been arrested by the National Police, and a criminal organisation in Murcia that was dedicated to international marijuana trafficking has been dismantled. The narcotics were purportedly transported from the Region of Murcia to Belgium using systematic packages that were sent through transportation companies. The packages were vacuum-packed and in perfect condition.
The agents’ investigation uncovered a series of indications that suggested the members of this criminal organisation, which was headquartered in the towns of San Javier, Sangonera La Verde, and La Aparecida, frequently travelled to a variety of package delivery companies and delivered packages to specific cities in Belgium.
Their approach was methodical, and they implemented specific security protocols during their movements to identify the potential presence of State Security Forces.
Agents verified the cargo of over 100 kilograms of marijuana buds, which were meticulously vacuum-packed, equipped with geolocation devices, and designed to evade detection, between March and May. The criminal organisation generated profits exceeding €600,000 as a result of the substantial increase in value of these drugs upon their arrival at their destination.
The June police operation resulted in the arrest of six individuals and the search of three residences. The authorities seized over 18 kilogrammes of marijuana buds, cash, lighting, and refrigeration systems, as well as nine vehicles that the organisation used to transport the narcotics.
The detainees are facing charges for document forgery, electricity fraud, narcotics trafficking, and membership in a criminal organisation. Judicial authorities have been granted access to them. The judicial authorities have promptly ordered the primary suspect, regarded as the leader of the criminal organisation, to be remanded in custody.
