A man has been reported by the Guardia Civil for exceeding the maximum speed limit of 120 kilometres per hour on the RM-15 highway near Mula (Murcia) by driving his motorbike at 191 kilometres per hour, according to sources from the Guardia Civil in a statement.
The motorcyclist, who was detected by the Guardia Civil during a speed check last week, has been reported for a very serious violation of the General Traffic Regulations. This violation entails a fine of 600 euros and the deduction of six points from his driving licence.
Specifically, the incident occurred on the RM-15 highway, near the municipality of Muleño, during a speed inspection conducted by a Traffic Sector patrol.
The motorcyclist was exceeding the speed limit and was not wearing the necessary protective apparel and gear.
The Provincial Traffic Headquarters, in collaboration with the Guardia Civil of the Murcia Sector, has enforced its policies against drivers who violate the speed limit and imperil other road users.
Additionally, the DGT’s annual programme includes enhanced surveillance on the highways that are most frequently used by motorcyclists during the weekends. The objective of this campaign, which spans from May to October, is to mitigate the number of accidents involving this demographic, which is responsible for 27% of fatalities in road accidents on intercity roads in the Region of Murcia.
