At 4:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, Sunday October 25th, officers from the Guardia Civil’s Canine Unit recovered the body of an 81-year-old Torre Pacheco resident. Sources from the Emergency Coordination Centre say he had been missing since Saturday.
The body was located in the Tajo-Segura Transfer canal, which runs through the El Albujón neighbourhood of Cartagena. Firefighters from the Cartagena City Council’s Fire and Rescue Service (SEIS) and Cartagena Civil Protection officials joined the search efforts, expanding their operations to the area where the body was recovered.
