The National Police have arrested two young men, aged 19 and 20, in Denia (Alicante) on charges of divulging secrets after allegedly illegally obtaining a film and intimate photographs of her and her partner from a friend’s mobile phone.
The couple reported the incident, which occurred last summer, stating that they had recently learnt from an acquaintance that an intimate video of them had been circulated and that they knew who could be responsible, given that they were also members of the couple’s social circle.
In her complaint, she stated that she suspected two men had stolen her phone and must have accessed the phone’s hidden folder, which contained an intimate video of the two of them as well as photographs, before transferring them to their own devices via a data-sharing application that bears her phone’s brand and leaves no trace of its transmission.
Similarly, after learning about the video’s dissemination through her friend, she recalled that one day when they were all together partying in the city, one of them took her phone and left with the other suspect with the terminal for about 30 minutes, which she did not give much importance to because in theory, they were friends, so she suspected that that was the moment in which they allegedly accessed her private data, given that they know her unlock number, as explained.
As a result, the authorities in charge of the case tracked down and interviewed other witnesses, including acquaintances of the victims who appeared to be aware of the video and images.
Ultimately, the investigation led to the complete identify of both individuals, who were found and arrested as suspects in the revelation of secrets. The case was referred to the city’s investigating courts and the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office since one of the suspects was a child at the time of the occurrence.
